Horse Haven: Competing

This was the most confusing thing to me in the beginning. There were quests that were telling me to go compete and win cups and all I could figure out how to do was the petting zoo.

First of all level 0 horses can only do petting zoo so don't be confused if you have a small round pen and can't do anything with it. For the petting zoo, after you have fed and petted your pet and possibly ignored giving him a treat and he's ready for action just put your mouse over the petting zoo and click on the horse icon.

When you get to horse level 1 then you can do different things if you have a small round pen.

Reining
Barrel Racing
Saddle Seat
Racing
Trotting

also when you get a bus stop then you can go compete in competitions if your horse is the right level. The only way to compete in competitions is to use your bus stop so once a horse is ready just click on the bus stop.
Croupton:

Hosts junior league competitions. That is the first place you compete.  It is a saddle seat competition.

Broncopolis:

You need to buy a luxurious trailer to get to here. (Wood Cup). This can be any of the 5 competitions.

Maneville:

This lets you do trotting competition

St. Fetlock:

This is reigning.

It seems you start off with wood cup then marble cup and it keeps increasing the more competitions you win.

This is all very confusing at the moment because even if your at the level you need to train first before you compete and increase your heart points. I still haven't fully figured this out and will post soon.

Horse Haven: The Stables

When you start you have 2 slots for horses.

The second box is free but to get more room for horses you need to upgrade.

Box 3 requires
*4500 horse bucks
*4 Paint
*5 Planks
*4 Plaster
*1 stable hand (meaning a friend added to your account)

Box 4 requires
*6000 horse bucks
*5 Paint
*5 Planks
*5 Plaster
*1 Stable hand

and so on...

Note: You actually start with a lot of free things unlike other games when it comes to the materials needed you actually start with  almost 20 of everything. You really only need to work on making money to get most of the things you need to complete buildings and expand.
As for buying more horses, there will be quests that tell you to do so. In the beginning you might be upset that you can only buy one horse without facebook cash as you can see below in the picture of my level 1 shop.
As you level the horses that required facebook cash become available for horsebucks as seen in my level 15 shop.

General Tips and Tricks 1

Getting 8 xp instead of 2xp for food and water task:

So what I have found so far... after you do the mini quest to get 4 water and 4 hay, you will notice that every time your horse drinks or eats you get 1 xp. What you might not have noticed is that if your hay and water isn't full, like 1 hay and 1 water each...and your horse maybe needs 4 hay and 4 water to get satisfied...every time you go to each hay or water you get 1 xp so you wind up with 8 xp instead of 2 xp by spreading it between the 4. Obviously you won't be able to do it as soon as you start your play for the day because all the hay and water will be full but use one of them then the next time you give him hay and water right after use the same one and the 2nd one.... then 1, 2, and 3... and so on... I wouldn't recommend getting more than 4 of each unless you have more than one horse but that's later.

Compost Bins (Main source of Money):

You should have atleast 1 of these to complete the first mini quest but this is actually the best source of income. In the store it says it is 100 dollars every 30 min but it's actually every 15 min! Besides this, so far the only other money maker is the guest house which costs 7500 to get and gives 500 dollars every 4 hours (so it says... haven't checked yet)... If you want a very steady income. Go through the tedious task of getting 1500 dollars to buy the compost and then saving up saving up to get another and another until you have 10! 10 gives you 100$*10composte*4=4000 dollars an hour if you come back to them every 15 minutes which is great. You could keep going and get up to 20 compost if you want and get 8000 an hour!?! Up to you.

Treats:

First of all treats are not mandatory. You can always chose to skip it for free. It doesn't prevent them from doing any actions and I have won 1st place in competitions without them having treats so I wouldn't waste that much money on it in the beginning till you have a steady income from the compost bins. Also as your horse ages it will want more and different kinds of treats that you might not be able to afford in the beginning so just ignore it and keep building up your money.

Horse Ageing:

Ok so there are 4 main horse levels 0 when it is born... and then 4 retired. When it is 0 it can't compete and when it is 4 it can't compete because it is too old however it can always do the petting zoo so you can get money off of the horse even if it's too old for competing. It can do a maximum of 24 points (meaning going through all the steps with it brushing water food compete or train). After it reached 24 it caps and just is retired and can't do anything except petting zoo from what I know now.

Hay and water Glitches:

If you run out of food from all your hay and you have to wait a few seconds until another hay is available, you won't be able to click on it. You will have to restart the browser. This is just a problem in the game itself and will probably be fixed in the future. Just restart if this happens to you and it's fine.

Horse Haven Facebook Game Guide Description

Description:

Horse Haven game on Facebook is a relatively new game. It just started advertising on facebook. The game is about owning horses, breeding them, and competing in competitions to make your ranch the best it can be.  If you like horses this will be a nice game to play.

The most important thing in these games is managing resources and trying to get as much money as you can for the energy you spend. I like playing efficiently so as I find tips in the game I will post them for you guys. This blog should help you get levelled fast in the beginning without the lost phase and buying random things that waste money and time so you can enjoy the game more.

Starting off:

First you will probably go through the tutorial. It's very straightforward just go through it. Pick a cute horse :).

Note: When helping out "Michelle" during the tutorial there will be lags after you click on the weeds to remove them where you won't be able to click on anything for a few seconds. It's normal. I think what is happening is they are trying to stretch the time it takes to help "Michelle" so the carrots will be done when you're done helping.

Starting Game Play:

In games people always want to know how I get so much money and can do what I want in the game. Well it's the first 100,000 that takes the effort and planning the rest is easy. So here is how to start off well.

This is what you should be left with after the tutorial. You will have a good size of money and lots of mini quests you can now do as well as a petting farm.

What will this guide do?
I'll give some specific and general tips for game play as well as any glitches, tips and tricks, to get you ahead. Also the list of quests and suggestions of which ones to start off with and which ones to leave behind. Anything I think of useful about the game I'll let you guys know.
